Pull the car over.

Chad and I drove to South Dakota for business this past week and were fortunate enough to drive through the Black Hills national forest.  Would I ever go to the Black Hills?  Probably,  if I owned an RV, had kids that were studying American history, and had a cooler full of PB& J's.  Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and the Devils Tower were all within 10 miles of the road we had to take so of course we pulled over to snap some photos!  We wouldn't be American if we didn't.  Plus 5 hours in the car requires some leg stretching. There are 100 national monuments in the US. 

Dogs are American too... that's not right.

Crazy Horse.  This one is from the road we didn't want to pay $10 a person to see it.  Boo expensive.

Devils Tower.  Random fact ... it's the first national monument 1906. 

Does it really have to stay in Vegas?

Phew!  I'm exhausted.  Chad and I met my brother Justin and Ralph in Vegas for the weekend.  We lived the good life...  Our hotel, The Cosmopolitan, was amazin'.  There were three pools, a casino, restaurants, shopping, clubs, amazing views, and tons of people... now back to reality.  My brother is an amazing photographer and took the photos below while we were there.  Check out his other stuff @ JustinRudd.com

Fastest painters in the west.

If you ever see a painting deal on Living Social or Groupon for $80 GET IT!   We had to provide the paint but the $120 investment was worth it.  The guys that painted were fast.  They showed up on time and were done in two hours. Holla!!!

Chad is going to install wainscoting behind the bed next week.  We are thinking around 7 foot tall over the headboard and then some sort of molding on the top for ledge.   Here are some pictures to ponder.

It's ok to be jealz...

So here it is 6:38 PM the night before the painter will be at my doorstep at 8 AM (fingers crossed) and I just nailed down the color.

...and no it's not a tribute to Ozark on my bedroom walls by any means...  Heh.

It was a toss up between grey and green... I have 6 huge squares on my wall of several different shades.  The painters going to think I'm  cray cray.

I'm sorry green but I just haven't been feeling you lately.  I have given you so many chances the past couple of weeks....It's OK to be jealous of my current fetish of blues and greys. I'll be back one day.
