Tarrgon

We have named our new house Tarragon for the time being... I can't think of something that I love but I know that once we really get going it will come to me.  Who knows maybe I will like the name Tarragon and it'll stick.  We have finished our plans with my brother in law (an architect) and now will interview builders this week.  I am so ready to get going.

I say ready to get going loosely because we have already had power lines put in, a well dug, and put up a mailbox.  I am glad we won't have to wait on those things with a builder.  The septic tank will be put in last so trucks don't have to drive over it.

Chad cleaned up trees along the road in front of our lot and cut down a huge cedar tree.  It all needs to be burned but he has been so busy starting work we haven't had a chance to do that yet.  I am ready to move in.... adjusting to living with my parents hasn't been pretty.  Maybe we will get that figured out by the time it's time to move on.

The well being dug...

My childhood friend, Blake, surveyed the property for us

Blair meets most of our family...

Below are some photos from the past couple months of Blair meeting some of her family.  I know she has to be so confused why there are so many new faces!  She is slowly remembering who everyone is. Me too... ha!

Blairs first Easter

This was our first Easter in Alabama in 9 years... there was a lot of food to catch up on.  Blair enjoyed her day meeting most of her extended family.  She took a really long afternoon nap and slept through the night per usual.

I found her basket on Walmart.com for less than $20.   I wouldn't suggest using it for an actual egg hunting basket because it isn't a basket that you can carry anything around in unless you want to pick up eggs off the ground.   Just a good prop for photos.

We mostly filled her basket up with baby food and things to go along with eating... burp cloths and spoons.  She loves to try new foods and we think she really wants to try solids.  I am scared so we will wait as along as we can for that! She will just have to watch for now.

We are moving!

We are Alabama bound just in time for summer!  We listed our house last week and it went under contract in less than a day.  Chad found a job back home and we are moving in with my parents... short term until we figure out where we want to live.

I don't know that I would ever claim Colorado as home.  It was never somewhere I was fully comfortable living.  There are things that I like about living here and there are things that I can't stand.  The timing is right and I can't get Blair out of daycare fast enough.  We are basically paying a mortgage for daycare and she has been sick every week since starting in December.  Why is there so much snot and congestion?  I don't get it.

The photos below are from our listing.  They make me happy and sad.  There are so many memories in this house and of course bringing Blair home is number one.   We will have new memories in our new home that will be just as good.  I can't wait!

Welcome 2018

We have survived another year.  Last year my pregnancy consumed our lives so this year I hope that we can be a little more calm and actually focus on things that we enjoy.  I would love to travel this year and spend a lot of time loving on Baby Blair.  She is really growing a lot now.  We have transitioned into 3 month size clothes and she is drinking close to 4 ounces every couple of hours. She smiles a lot.

I have to admit I am not holding it together as much as I thought I would.  Taking her to daycare all day every day is  hard.  I miss her something serious. She got really sick a few weeks ago and that was scarier than giving birth.  I know that daycare is good for her and that she is building an immune system like no other but I would much rather keep her locked inside our house and never see inside a doctors office as long as I live.

Chad and I were talking and I realized that I had not received a copy of her birth certificate.  I had to do a little research and ended up requesting one through vitals.com. Our county called me a little later and said that the hospital sent in the paperwork with my married last name and not my maiden so the state has the records incorrect thus the birth certificate is incorrect.  The next step would be to call the state.  I did that and they said to call the hospital and have them submit a correction.  Eh, so annoying.  I didn't know you can't fly with your infant without a birth certificate.  We are grounded.  Ha!

Blair has been seeing a physical therapist to help her with her diagnosis of torticollis.  Basically, she has a stiff neck and doesn't turn her head to the left resulting in a flat head on the right side.  She interviews with our school board next week and they approve or deny the therapist coming to her at daycare rather than us driving to visit them every week.  I can see a huge difference in her mobility so hopefully we don't have to have these visits much longer.
